Since we first advertised for a Development Manager, things have moved on within the Leadership Team and in the work of SVN.  We are now putting the search for a suitable candidate on hold while we reassess our priorities and ways of working.  Thanks to all who have prayed about this over the last few months.

Our 2010 conference  has the title ‘SVN Experience 2010′.  King’s Park, in Northampton, is a very comfortable and practicable venue, offering good food and excellent value for money.  The dates are 16th to 18th November, and the cost will be £135.

So far we have 26 people coming, but we can accommodate more.   If you would like a booking form  please contact apbielby@hotmail.co.uk

The programme is taking shape, and will include advice about short mission trips plus workshops on Special Needs, home schooling and science experiments with minimal equipment.  An update on the current organisation and workings of SVN will include a chance to add your own input on topics such as recruitment and encouraging participation in projects.  Wednesday afternoon is a more relaxed time, with visits to a local park or museum.

Bob Hunt will once again lead our worship, and there will be opportunities to talk with volunteers involved in recent projects, as well as time to relax and enjoy each other’s company.  Come and learn more about SVN, meet other members, and find out how you might be more involved in our work.

Three volunteers visited the Samaritan School in Tamil Nadu in November 2009, to help the principal and staff to carry out an evaluation programme.  Their recommendations were well received, and they saw many answers to prayer.

 A52/11  Bangladesh Milestone College

One or two volunteers needed for this large school just outside Dhaka for January and February 2011.  There are opportunities for teaching, training teachers and sharing individual skills.

All costs in Bangladesh are met by the school.  Dates are flexible.  One volunteer worked in this school from January- March 2010
