Or contact Chris Stickland at cjstickland@btinternet.com.

Our 2010 conference  has the title ‘SVN Experience 2010′.  It will again be at King’s Park in Northampton, which was a very comfortable and practicable venue, offering good food and excellent value for money.  The dates are 16th to 18th November, and the cost will be £135.   Information and booking forms will be sent out at the beginning of March.

The programme is taking shape, and will include advice about short mission trips, an update on the current organisation and workings of SVN, and a choice of workshops on various topics.  There will also be a chance to hear the other side of the story, as a recipient of SVN’s services shares his experience of welcoming our volunteers to help lead a conference in Nigeria.

Bob Hunt will once again lead our worship, and there will be opportunities to talk with volunteers involved in recent projects, as well as time to relax and enjoy each other’s company.  Come and learn more about SVN, meet other members, and find out how you might be more involved in our work.

Put the dates in your diary now!

Isabel is collecting resources to help volunteers going on projects.  This  may be material you have already used overseas, or anything else that you think might be suitable.

At the moment we are focusing on resources for teaching basic maths, particularly to help children understand numbers and the number system; games, practical activities, mental maths.  This would be particularly helpful for children in African countries, where there is much rote learning of maths.

If you have anything to offer please  email Isabel at svnetprojects@googlemail.com.

Three volunteers visited the Samaritan School in Tamil Nadu in November 2009, to help the principal and staff to carry out an evaluation programme.  Their recommendations were well received, and they saw many answers to prayer.
